Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Groups

Ghosts investigation is not new, for they have been studied by paranormal researchers for well over a hundred years.  In, England, the “Ghost Club” was set up in 1862 and the “Society for Psychical Research” was founded in 1882, both groups dedicated to investigating ghosts and hauntings.  The “American Branch of the Society for Psychical Research”’ was established a few years later. 

Today, Ghost Hunting is a Popular Pastime. 

Paranormal Groups have sprung up all over the world, some more qualified than others.  Dozens of television specials and series can now be seen, where ghosts and hauntings are profiled and where Ghost Hunters or Paranormal Groups are invited to come and help.  

The Activities of Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Groups

These Ghost Hunters or Paranormal Groups may stake out a building, be it a home or an ancient ruin.  They take with them an array of equipment including cameras, tape recorders, thermometers, EMF detectors to register changes in the electro-magnetic field, and motion detectors to pick up the slightest supernatural activity.  They are there, hoping for something spectacular to happen – the scarier, the better.  Very often, nothing happens at all.  Occasionally they may be rewarded with a sudden drip on temperature, an unusual reading on their instruments or even the feeling of being touched, indicating the possible existence of a ghost.  Then they leave with their stories and ‘evidence’ of witnessing paranormal activity.

Ghost Hunter and Paranormal Groups are Not Much Help

These groups are not of much use when called in to a haunted house.  They set up their equipment, hoping to find evidence of paranormal activity.  They feel that their job is done when they have provided evidence of the existence of paranormal activity or an ‘entity’.  It usually does not occur to them that some of these ‘entities’ may be deceased people who are suffering and in need of help.   Usually, if  they are asked by the house holder to help in ridding the home of the ‘entity’ or ghost, they have no idea what to do. 

These investigators often refuse to involve mediums in their investigations, feeling that this is in some way ‘unscientific’.  They fail to distinguish between different types of ghosts and spirit beings, viewing them all as ‘entities’ only to be analyzed and dissected.  Sometimes, they will encourage the ghost to perform and to do this they may try to provoke it.    A house holder doesn't want to the ghost encouraged, or agitated  they often just want to get rid of it, but the ghost team usually offers no solution and can sometimes make things worse.  They can stir things up, leaving behind a very indignant spirit who then takes out their fury on the unfortunate inhabitants of the house!  Also, likely the investigating team has multiplied the ‘fear’ in the house holder and possibly even claiming that the ‘entity’ is ‘evil’, still offering no solutions.

To be fair, I must add that most Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Investigators are well intentioned and some actually bring a medium or psychic along to assist with their investigation.

Clergy are Usually Not Much Help Either

When house holders are unable to find a way to rid their homes of ghosts, sometimes they turn to the clergy.  Most of the time clergy have no idea what to do and even if they try something, the ghost usually does not leave.  

To Obtain Real Help, Call a Medium

It is always wiser to consult a medium (not a psychic) for they usually can assist you with your ghosts and will know what to do.

My Involvement with Ghost Hunting

I started out as a Ghost Hunter and eventually joined various Paranormal Groups.  My reason for doing investigations was to ‘witness proof that ghosts existed for myself’.  It never occurred to me that they may be deceased people who needed help.  Eventually after I witnessed enough paranormal activity, I did not need to see any more proof of their existence.  At one point in time, I realized that I was so focused on finding evidence of a ghost’s existence and so much wanted to capture a ghost’s photograph or to actually ‘see’ a ghost, that I found I was stalking ghosts like a person would ‘hunt an wild animal’.  I soon came to the realization that this was a very disrespectful way of approaching deceased people. 

The Development of My Mediumship Abilities – Hearing Ghosts

During this same period, I began to witness my mediumship abilities developing.  I started by talking to ghosts with a pendulum asking “yes’ or ‘no’ questions.  I later  realized when I was using the pendulum that I could also hear the answers “in my mind”.  At first I thought my mind was just making this up.  Eventually I discovered that when I talked “out loud” or “in my mind” to ghosts, I found I could hear their answers “in my mind”.  Later, I realized that I could actually get the spirits of specific deceased people to come to me and talk with me.  Now, I can meet with a person and ask for a specific deceased family member or friend of that person to come and they usually come to me.  The person with me then asks the deceased person questions and I hear their answer and tell the person with me what they said.  It is like being a spirit telephone. Now I Can Find and See Ghosts

After this, I realized that I had the ability to find ghosts, if there are any in a home (with the help of other spirits) and can actually see the ghost in my mind.  Once I make contact with them, I talk to them and find out who they are and why they are still here.  I usually can convince them to leave and move on to the “other side”, to be with their loved ones and friends.  

Some People Like Having Ghosts Around 

Some people may say that they ‘like’ having a ghost in their home, but in reality, it is best for that ghost/person to move on.  Many ghosts/deceased people are lost and lonely here and create activity in a home just to try to communicate with someone and get help.  The spirit of a deceased person is always better off, going to the other side rather than staying an earth-bound entity.
